In October 2025, GLOBIS delivered a specialized leadership session for officials from Oman's Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The program, held at the request of Idemitsu Kosan, brought together future leaders to explore key principles of Japanese-style management.
The session was led by GLOBIS faculty member Tomoya Nakamura, who introduced participants to the long-term perspective that characterizes many Japanese organizations. The discussion focused on how Japanese-style leadership approaches, rooted in purpose, trust, and long-term thinking, can support sustainable organizational growth.
Participants explored concepts including stakeholder harmony and the importance of treating employees as long-term partners in organizational success. Through case studies from Japanese companies, the session illustrated how prioritizing customer value and employee engagement can enhance the resilience and long-term performance of an organization.
The program also provided an opportunity to discuss leadership development and international collaboration. Participants reflected on the differences between Japan’s people-centered management philosophy, highlighting the value of these perspectives for future leaders.
GLOBIS is proud to support leadership development initiatives that strengthen international relationships and looks forward to continuing its collaboration with partners across the Middle East.
