On July 3, 2026, GLOBIS hosted a special seminar in Delhi, India, marking the launch of the Visionary Leadership Program (VLP) in the region. Organized by the GLOBIS Global Group (GGG), the event followed the first overseas VLP seminar in Düsseldorf on June 11 and brought together 35 participants, primarily Japanese expatriate managers working for Japanese companies in India.
Titled “Why Japan, Why Now? — Rethinking Leadership Through Diverse Values to Open the Future of Management in India,” the seminar explored how Japanese management approaches, East Asian thought, and Kokorozashi—a personal mission—can offer perspectives for leadership in India. Participants also considered what Japan can learn from values and perspectives developed in India, and how both can contribute to stronger organizations.
The session featured Tomoya Nakamura, Dean of GLOBIS University’s English MBA program and President of GLOBIS USA, who also serves as Managing Partner of the KIBOW Social Impact Investment Fund. Drawing on his experience in developing global leaders, Nakamura discussed leadership approaches rooted in long-term thinking, human-centered management, and Kokorozashi, and how these ideas can be applied across cultural and organizational contexts.

The discussion focused on several key themes:
The event also emphasized dialogue and peer learning. Participants shared their experiences and challenges in managing organizations in India and discussed practical approaches and potential actions with one another. Four GLOBIS MBA students also attended the event, contributing to the exchange between current students and business professionals.
The event also marked an important step in the launch of the Visionary Leadership Program (VLP), GLOBIS’ English-language executive education program for global senior leaders. Through VLP and related international initiatives, GLOBIS continues to create opportunities for leaders to develop strategic judgment, explore diverse perspectives, and lead with a clear sense of purpose.
