In May 2026, GLOBIS participated in the ATD26 International Conference & EXPO in Los Angeles, joining nearly 13,000 learning and development (L&D) professionals from over 80 countries. Amidst the conference’s core theme of embracing disruption and directing the future, GLOBIS brought a distinctive, human-centric perspective to the global L&D community.

Throughout the event, ATD keynotes by industry disruptors like Zack Kass and Liz Wiseman highlighted a common challenge: as AI and technological advancements accelerate, workforces are increasingly facing "Identity Displacement," isolation, and the daunting task of leading through the "dark". At Booth 2416, the GLOBIS team engaged with global HR leaders to discuss how these anxieties can be met with kokorozashi (a personal mission that unites individual passion with societal impact), generating strong interest in our upcoming Visionary Leadership Program (VLP).

A major highlight of the conference was GLOBIS’s two featured speaker sessions, which drew highly engaged audiences seeking new frameworks for an unpredictable world:

    • Japan's Wisdom: A New Lens for Tomorrow's Leaders Tomoya Nakamura, Managing Director at GLOBIS, explored why global leaders are increasingly looking to Japan for answers to questions that conventional approaches can no longer solve. He shared how Japanese corporate DNA, shaped by long-term thinking, harmony among stakeholders, and a deep belief in human growth, offers a vital new perspective for leadership in the age of AI.

    • Leading with Compassion in an Isolated World: Timeless Insights from Japan Dr. Tadahiro Wakasugi, Senior Faculty Director, addressed the question of why Japan is home to 41% of the world's century-old businesses. Sharing powerful case studies from organizations like Kongō Gumi (the world's oldest company at over 1,400 years old), Dr. Wakasugi demonstrated that true corporate longevity is driven not by relentless competition, but by the science of compassion. The session moved many attendees to reflect deeply on their own Kokorozashi and how they can build resilient, connected teams.

As the era of AI-agents demands a shift towards "Educational High Performance UX" and a greater focus on human connection, GLOBIS is proud to share its Japan-origin leadership philosophy. We look forward to continuing to foster purpose-driven dialogue with organizations worldwide.
