On June 22, 2026, GLOBIS hosted a special hybrid seminar for GLOBIS MBA alumni, bringing together perspectives from two executive education programs: Chimei Shachu, GLOBIS’ Japanese-language program for senior executives, and the Visionary Leadership Program (VLP), its English-language program for global senior leaders. The event was positioned as an opportunity for MBA alumni to consider the next stage of learning as they advance in their careers.
The panel featured Tatsuya Koya, Executive Director at Shimizu Foods (Suzuyo Group) and former President & CEO of Ajinomoto Healthy Supply; Yosuke Inoue, GLOBIS Executive and Faculty Lead for the Visionary Leadership Program; and Ryo Fukuda, GLOBIS Faculty Lead for Chimei Shachu.
Titled “How to Refresh Your Leadership OS in an Era Without Single Answers: Unlocking Senior Leadership Requirements Through Chimei Shachu and VLP,” the seminar explored how senior leaders can continue to update their ways of thinking and decision-making in an increasingly complex business environment. The discussion focused on the importance of looking beyond past experience, expanding one’s perspective, and continually refining Kokorozashi—one’s personal mission.
Drawing on his experience as a senior executive and as a graduate of both GLOBIS’ Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA) and Chimei Shachu, Koya shared how executive education influenced his leadership philosophy. He reflected on the importance of continuous self-reflection and updating one’s assumptions and ways of thinking when facing decisions that do not have clear answers.
The panel discussion focused on several key themes:
The event also marked two milestones in GLOBIS’ executive education offerings: the 10th anniversary of Chimei Shachu and the launch of the Visionary Leadership Program (VLP) in 2026. By bringing together perspectives from Japanese- and English-language programs, the seminar highlighted different approaches to developing senior leaders and created an opportunity for alumni to consider how their leadership can continue to evolve after completing an MBA.
The collaboration also demonstrated the value of connecting GLOBIS programs and teams across departments. By creating opportunities for alumni and senior leaders to continue learning, reflecting, and exchanging perspectives, GLOBIS continues to build a lifelong learning ecosystem that supports leaders in creating meaningful change in their organizations and society.
