On January 16, 2026, GLOBIS hosted the 2nd Global CLO Conference in Tokyo. The conference theme was “Building People and Organizations that Advance Globally, The Role and Practice of HR.” The event brought together senior HR leaders to discuss how organizations can strengthen globally capable leadership and execute business strategy through talent development.

Featuring keynote speeches and panel discussions from executives representing leading global companies across industries,  focused on leadership development, organizational alignment, succession planning, and the evolving role of HR amid rapid business transformation and globalization.

Across the sessions, speakers emphasized the importance of aligning leadership development with long-term business strategy and building organizations capable of operating effectively across borders and cultures.

Hikaru Samejima, President and CEO of Terumo Corporation, shared perspectives on leadership discipline and organizational management based on Terumo’s global expansion and cross-border M&A experience. Keiichi Yasuda, Head of HR at Honda Motor Co., Ltd., discussed global talent strategy in response to industry transformation driven by electrification and software integration. Ryo Kamakura, Head of HR at PHC Holdings Corporation, introduced the company’s structured approach to executive development and succession planning.
