On March 17, GLOBIS co-hosted a special seminar with global communications firm Edelman at the GLOBIS University Tokyo campus. The event marked the 25th anniversary of the Edelman Trust Barometer and brought together leaders to explore the evolving role of trust in business and society.
The session featured a dialogue between Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman, and Yoshito Hori, CEO of GLOBIS, who discussed the theme “The Crisis of Grievance” and the growing challenges surrounding public trust. Drawing on insights from the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer, the conversation highlighted rising concerns around inequality, polarization, and institutional credibility.
The discussion also examined how businesses are reassessing their role in addressing societal issues, including sustainability and social impact. Speakers emphasized that organizations must demonstrate tangible value to society to maintain trust and support innovation in an increasingly complex environment.
The seminar further explored the role of companies in Japan, where organizations that contribute to a positive societal vision tend to earn higher levels of trust. Participants also engaged in dialogue on practical approaches to strengthening trust and fostering meaningful corporate contributions.
GLOBIS is proud to support conversations that address critical global challenges and looks forward to continuing to foster dialogue on leadership, trust, and societal impact.
