On June 20, 2025, GLOBIS hosted the DUJAT Showcase Tokyo, bringing together leaders from the Dutch and Japanese business communities for a strategic dialogue on the future of bilateral collaboration. The event highlighted a shift from traditional market access toward active co-creation, emphasizing how purpose-driven leadership and the principle of kokorozashi (personal mission) can help organizations navigate global uncertainty.

The showcase featured remarks from Sven Van Stichel, COO of GLOBIS Europe, who spoke about the importance of resilient leadership in today’s VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) business environment. 

Representatives from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and MUFG Bank Europe also shared perspectives on the evolving role of the Netherlands as a hub for collaboration and innovation. Discussions explored opportunities for joint initiatives in areas such as energy transition, circular economy, and digital technology, where Japanese and European expertise increasingly intersect.

The event also highlighted the importance of human connections in strengthening long-standing partnerships. Mayor Tjapko Poppens of Amstelveen and other speakers noted that the success of international collaboration relies not only on economic ties but also on trust, community engagement, and shared purpose. With more than 800 Japanese companies operating in the Netherlands, the dialogue underscored the continued potential of the 420-year relationship between the two countries.
