"When you face genuine uncertainty, your mind alone is not enough. You need the integration of body, mind, and spirit functioning together." — Tomoya Nakamura

Why are more global business leaders coming to Japan today?
They are not only visiting to see Japan. They are also seeking new perspectives on questions that conventional approaches can no longer fully answer: the future of capitalism, leadership in the age of AI, and how organizations can create lasting value.
This session explores how the 2,700-year-old principles of Dō, Zen, and Wa provide a blueprint for modern challenges. "If the conventional Western story about competition were complete—that aggression and ruthlessness are what keep a business alive—Japan should be an empty graveyard of polite firms. It is the opposite." — Dr. Tadahiro Wakasugi

Why do some companies endure while others fail? Japan is home to 41% of the world’s century-old businesses.
Their longevity is driven not by relentless competition but by leadership principles of compassion. Moving beyond the misconception that compassion simply means "being nice," this session reveals the science showing that true compassion sustains a leader's energy rather than depleting it.
You will explore the discipline of stepping outside your own perspective to build organizational trust and counteract the isolation of power.
